NOMINEES FOR TURK CINEMA OSCARS

Nominees for the 3rd Yeşilçam Awards,known as the Turkish Oscars,were presented on Monday at a press conference held at Ghetto.
Beyoğlu Mayor Ahmet Misbah Demircan said his municipality organized the event becouse Turkish cinema was born and grew up in Beyoğlu,and the success of cinema should be crowned in the district.He said 2009 was a very important and productive year for Turkish cinema.Demircan also commemorated famous directors Halit Refiğ,who died in October,and Ahmet Uluçay,who also died last year at inees were revealed in 11 categories.
