'ROSARY,' 'CHEERFUL LİFE' WİN ONE PRİZE EACH

The prize for best performance by an actor went to Nadir Sarıbacak for his portrayal of naive muezzin who falls in platonic love with a Catholic nurse in Mahmet Fazıl Çoşkun's debut feature,'Uzak İhtimal'(Wrong Rosary).Büşra Pekin,best known for her stage performances in comedy shows with Yılmaz Erdoğan and his theater company,won the best supporting actress prize for her role in Erdoğan's 'Neşeli Hayat'(A Cheerful Life),winning the film its sole prize.

Starting this year ,SİYAD award for the most promising artist of year was named after filmmaker Ahmet Uluçay,who died in November 2009,and the winner of the inaugural Ahmet Uluçay prize was Melih Selçuk,for his role in Kaplanoğlu's 'Süt.'
